Y'all know, i'm always on the move, trying to come up with the next N'awlins type soap, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that i'd eventually do the Frozen Cup thing! Now i've been meaning to do this for awhile, but if you're not already aware, the Herb'n Mixtress can be one of the world's biggest procrastinators. But any who, do y'all remember these from back in the day when we used to go the candy lady and get one for a quarter??? True NOLA nostalgia right there! These were quite fun to make and they mimic the scents of all of the throwback flavors-- i'm telling y'all, they smell so dag on' good. From left to right, is Pina Colada, Banana, Cherry, Bubblegum, Margarita & Spearmint.
Now one problem I ran into, when making them is I couldn't figure out what to name them. In different parts of NOLA, we called them different things. In the Cut Off (Algiers) where I grew up, we called them Frozen Cups or Cold Cups. In the 9th Ward, where all my family was, they were known as Ice Bergs, but in the Treme/Uptown area they were Huck-a-bucks. Hmmm... I need to figure this out before I can list them. Which brings me to my next "A HA moment". In typical Herb'n Mixtress fashion, there's only one way to settle this-- with a CONTEST!!!
